Abuja - Milan striker Fernando Torres has expressed his delight at returning back home ahead of his January move to Atletico Madrid, reports Football411. A product of Atleticos youth system, Torres departed the Vicente Calderon for Liverpool in 2007 and enjoyed a prolific first four seasons in England before moving to Chelsea in 2011 for a then British transfer record £50million. The Spaniard failed to replicate his form for the Blues and struggled for form for much of his time at Stamford Bridge, managing just 20 league goals in over 100 appearances, prompting his loan move to the Rossoneri in the off-season. His woes have since continued at the San Siro, but many believe a move back to his boyhood club could see El Nino regain some of his best form, and the 30-year-old is excited about the prospect of turning out for his beloved Ateltico once more. I’m happy to be back home, thanks to those who made this possible, Torres is quoted as saying by Forza Italian Football. For me, this is the realisation of a dream. I wanted to find happiness and there’s no better place than Atletico. It was hard for me to leave all those years ago, but both me and Atletico have won titles and trophies since. I have been a fan since childhood, and it’s a special feeling that I have towards these colours. I was fine in other teams, but there’s nothing like Atletico.
