Academy students invited to dress up for RNLI SOS fundraing day. On Friday 31st January 2014, the Academy will be taking part in the RNLI’s SOS fund raising day. On that day, children will be able to wear non-school uniform, in exchange for a minimum donation of £1. This year the fundraising theme is ‘Sunshine or Showers’, so anything wet weather, decorated wellies or sunshine related, beach theme (but no swimming costumes). On the Milton site there will be a cake sale at break time, so please send your child with some lovely cakes and money if they wish to purchase them ! (There will be no tuck shop on this day). The RNLI is a registered charity, whose volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards put their own lives on the line to save others. They provide a 24 hour search and rescue service around the UK and Republic of Ireland and safeguard UK beaches. The RNLI relies entirely on voluntary contributions for its income. Taking part in RNLI SOS day is our way of raising money to help these brave volunteers continue their lifesaving work, so that we can all enjoy our coasts, beaches and waterways in greater safety. We hope you are happy for your child to participate and would be grateful if you could ensure they bring their donation to school on Friday 31st January.
