Access to information (and education) is key to the health of a Democracy. I think a case can be made that a healthy Democracy is a good foundation for the growth of business. It seems to me that we all pay for access to information and content with our not insignificant fees to various telecom outlets for phone, wifi, cable etc. (not to mention time spent sitting through advertising). According to the logic of maximizing multiple toll taking opportunities with the justification that you didnt build it and you havent paid ME yet, Verizon and Comcast should be paying CERN. Is that happening?
