According to USGS reports, two (2) 4 magnitude quakes originated Monday evening, September 2, 2013 northwest of Timpson. The first quake happened at 5:52pm registering at a 4.1 magnitude. The second quake occurred an hour later at 6:51pm registering a 4.3 magnitude. These earthquakes are the first to hit the area since January of this year.
