According to this article the soldiers overseas wants everybody to know what Denzel Washington did -- since the press hasnt mention it (with the exception of the Local Newspaper in San Antonio) the overseas soldiers wanted to get the word out the the public. They feel his patriotism should not go unrecognized. Denzel wrote out a personal check - on the spot - to build a house that would house more families of soldiers who are hospitalized at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas.
