Acting Education Secretary Kiragu wa Magochi has warned all public & private school heads against forcing students to repeat classes so as to achieve good performance (that all-coveted mean grade). What happens is that students who seriously shika zero in class never get promoted. Worse still, others are expelled. My take is that if a student has no academic future, let him/her focus on their other abilities e.g. sports, creative arts, etc. Academic qualification isn’t everything today.
