Active Play Event at Commonwealth House. This Thursday 12th September PEEK will be taking part in an Active Play event at The Stadium conference room in Commonwealth House in Glasgow. The event is titled, Developing Physical Literacies through Play, and will involve several key speakers. The event will be chaired by Celia Tennant of Inspiring Scotland, followed by a talk from Aidan Gallacher of Active East, who will be Setting The Context of Active Play. PEEK Project Manager Melodie Crumlin will introduce a short film on the topic & then discuss the practicalities of the Active Play pilot scheme. Theresa Campbell, who is Senior Lecturer in Physical Education at Glasgow University, will discuss why Active Play is so important & will also report on the results of the Active Play pilot scheme so far. The Minister for Children and Young People, Aileen Campbell MSP, will then deliver a talk on Active Play. The formal presentations will be brought to a close by the chairperson, Inspiring Scotland’s Head of Funds, Celia Tennant. Directly afterwards there will be coffee & biscuits, with plenty opportunity for all delegates and speakers to network within The Stadium conference room.
