Acts 24:15 ► and I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. The majority who read this scripture mistakenly believe that the wicked spoken of ....are the unsaved. God clearly says that the unsaved will never be resurrected....and He clearly gives the reasons why ....which we will look into, for confirmation. He also clearly tells us who these wicked people are.......the unrighteous believer...and we will look at that also. You see God always says what He means and means what He says ....so if there ARE scriptures to say that the unbeliever is never resurrected......then this can only mean that we have the wrong understanding of who the wicked really are. Check out the following scripture....... 1 Peter 4: 17-18 17. For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18. AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER? The Lord is talking about THREE distinct persons.....the righteous believer......the unbeliever AND the sinner. Arent all unbelievers ( the Godless) sinners ? yes ! So why the distinction ? Because the sinner spoken of is the unrighteous, rebellious believer.....the goats ....those He will separate from the sheep. More confirmation ? Coming right up........ Proverbs 11:31 ► If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner! How much more the ungodly AND the sinner. AND the sinner. This is a clear distinction. More confirmation ? Look, I could go on all day with scriptures like this but....lets look at one that spells out, word for word that the ungodless, the unrighteous who will be resurrected....are in fact believers....who knew the truth...who knew God...... Romans 1: 18-21 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. They hold THE TRUTH in unrighteousness ......they KNEW God but glorified Him not. This is NOT an unbeliever spoken of. Lets look at some verses who spell it out EVEN more clearly....... Hebrews 10:26-27 26 .For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27. but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries. 28 If anyone disregards Moses’ law, he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29. How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 .For we know the One who has said, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people. 31, It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God! Does the unbeliever ever receive a knowledge of the truth ? NO. Does the unbeliever ever regard as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace? NO . Is the unbeliever ever sanctified ? NO. This is talking about believers....unrighteous, rebellious, godless believers . Yes, it is entirely possible that a believer is godless.....because they do not obey Christ. Want further confirmation....from Hebrews 10 ? 32 Remember the earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings. 33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way. 34 For you sympathized with the prisoners[h] and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, knowing that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession. 35 So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised. 37 For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. 38 But My righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life. Verse 38 is clear as crystal....... 38 . But My RIGHTEOUS one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him. Does God ever say that believers He calls unrighteous and godless, who draw back, who continue to sin AFTER they have received the truth.....that they WILL inherit the Kingdom of heaven ? NO NO NO. It is these who He calls wicked and godless.....the scriptures given ALL pertain to believers.....albeit unrighteous believers. Have you ever noticed that every scripture, pertaining to the resurrection, only ever deal with the believer.......those who will be resurrected to everlasting life and those resurrected to everlasting contempt.....for all the reasons just given. Matthew 25:31-46 is talking about the sheep and the goats. Here Jesus will separate the obedient , righteous believer from the disobedient believer. NO unbeliever is ever expected to carry out Christs commands......the sheep and the goats are referring to believers only. Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna ( lake of fire.) JOHN 15: 5-6 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned. THese two examples are talking to believers.....about believers........and this...... Matthew 5:30 - And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into Gehenna ( lake of fire ). And of the goats...... Matthew 25:41 - Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: THESE are the wicked, the godless, the unrighteous who will be resurrected , not to face judgement but to be destroyed....eternally destroyed. ....rebellious, disobedient believers. They will be resurrected at the same time as the dead IN Christ...the obedient, righteous believer who WILL inherit eternal life. Please read the following , very carefully...... Psalm 1:5 5 Therefore the wicked will not survive ( stand in ) [ a] the judgment, and sinners will not be in the community ( congregation ) of the righteous. Footnotes: Psalm 1:5 ( a. ) Literally .....stand in the judgement. This is talking about the wicked believer and unbelievers, who are alive at the time of Jesus return , and the dead unbeliever ....for NO wicked person will ever stand in the judgement . Why ? Why will they not stand in the congregation of the righteous, on judgement day ? God tells us clearly in this verse....... Psalm 5:5 5 The boastful cannot stand in Your presence; You hate all evildoers. All wicked people, both believers and unbelievers are boastful.......boastful that they don;t need God...that they can do all themselves.....the boastful are proud and they reject God commandments and it is for this reason that they CANNOT stand in His presence. Is this scripture not God breathed ? is it true....or a load of baloney that God had written just for a joke ? NO ! It means what it says.....the boastful, the proud, the arrogant ( for that is who boastful people are ) CANNOT stand in His presence.....so WHY are we preaching that they DO ? WHY are we preaching that the wicked, the unrighteous, the Godless....CAN stand in His presence when God CLEARLY says they CANNOT ? Psalm 49:11 .....tells us , quite clearly , that those who die, rejecting Christ, NEVER leave their graves...NEVER....their graves , their tombs, are their dwelling places.....UNTIL God throws death and Hades ( the grave) into the Lake of Fire.. Unbelievers, who die in an unrepentant , unforgiven, unredeemed state are never resurrected that they should see the light of day....they have NO further reward in anything that takes place under the sun.......NO judgement. ....... Ecclesiastes 9:5 ► For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. Even their NAME is forgotten....HOW can God call them forth if He has forgotten their names ? They have NO further reward....they vanish like smoke..... Psalm 37: 19-20 19.They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine they will have abundance. 20.But the wicked will perish; And the enemies of the LORD will be like the glory of the pastures, They vanish-- like smoke they vanish away. 2 Thessalonians 1:9 ► They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might They will be shut out from the PRESENCE of he Lord....they cannot and will not stand before Him ...at any time....including on judgement day....for that will occur IN His presence. To be resurrected means to be given a new body.....does the dead unbeliever ever get given a new body ? lets see...... Psalm 28: 1-5 1 Lord, I call to You; my rock, do not be deaf to me. If You remain silent to me, I will be like those going down to the Pit. 2 Listen to the sound of my pleading when I cry to You for help, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. 3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with the evildoers, who speak in friendly ways with their neighbors while malice is in their hearts. 4 Repay them according to what they have done— according to the evil of their deeds. Repay them according to the work of their hands; give them back what they deserve. 5 Because they do not consider what the Lord has done or the work of His hands, He will tear them down and not rebuild them. He , God, will NEVER rebuild them....... Ezekiel 37 is all about resurrecting the righteous and giving them new bodies....rebuilding their bodies ( see Job 33 for confirmation )......and this is NEVER done to the unbeliever who has died.....they are NEVER rebuilt......EVER. THAT is why there are ONLY scriptures talking about righteous believers having new bodies. Not one scripture EVER talks about unbelievers who die., those who have gone down to the grave, the pit, as King David tells us..........being resurrected and having a new body. God will never rebuild them....that means NO resurrection. I pray, in Jesus precious Name, that scripture alone speaks....that my words hold no sway ....but that clear speaking scripture tells its own story. May we all realise that if just one scripture contradicts our beliefs ....then WE have the wrong understanding....that WE are wrong....because scripture never is.
