Additional photos found in the last few days-These taken by Lupe and Adela at Lupes former work site. Lupe had served as the medical services director at the Corrections Corporation of Americas CCA Immigration Detention Center. During Lupes service at CCA, she assisted a group of Sikhs during a hunger strike over a demand to be released or deported. Lupe resigned over many issues that management and ICE refused to resolve. Lupes assistant Melisa Grace married Manjit Singh the leader of the hunger strike and was fired. The following photos are of a protest at CCA over immigration issues by the Sikh and immigrant community. In one photo immigration activist Maria Jimenez stands with the Sikh protesters. Melisa and Manjit were married during Manjits detention at CCA. The first photo is from their wedding in India. Unsure of the date-middle 90s.
