Admins are getting a re-occurring question on their fb pages: When will the new law be implemented and when will they see a reduction in their annual bill? Apparently, the law allows FEMA 8 months to set new rates, and another 8 months for the Insurance Companies to implement these new rates. It potentially could take until the end of Sept/beginning of October 2015 before these rates charts are implemented by the insurance carriers. Depending upon the month thereafter for when a persons renewal arrives, is when they may see any relief in their insurance bill which could be anywhere from October 2015 through September 2016. I highly suggest that we give these homeowners guidance on what they can do to make a powerful statement and difference for themselves. 1. Call and write their Senators and area Congressmen immediately. Explain how this will impact them personally; 2. They must get on twitter and tweet their frustration to these congressmen and media too; 3. Go to Stop Fema Now Homeowner Stories page and document their issue at one location instead of one at each states facebook page so we can get a collective account on how large this problem is for our Congressmen. From here, George Kasimos-stopFemanow can take assessment and possibly address this on a larger scale on their behalf. This is a critical question because thousands of homeowners could still loose their homes if FEMA continues to charge the existing BWA-12 law rates until this laws is implemented and reduced bills arrive dont arrive until late 2015/2016. By then, 3 years of BWA-12 rates might have been charged since its enactment. If they arent charging BWA-12 rates till this time, what was NFIP specifically instructed to charge in the interim by congress in this law? Did anyone see language providing instructions to FEMA? These people need to know this answer now. Darn, the program extension was only until 2017 anyway. Therefore, we need to know if this law only affected one premium year 2016/2017. Many good intentioned Congressman may wish to know about this underlying issue and put forth an emergency Bill in the House to provide detailed guidance and clarification to FEMA on what to charge in the interim. They worked very hard to help us and I am sure they didnt wish their work to be in vain. https://facebook/HomeownerstoriesSTOPFEMANOW Like · Jennifer Pedrero Netta Write a comment... .. Joan Add
