Admitting Your Inadequacies By Dr. Robert Schuller Whom have I...but You?/...My flesh and my heart fail;/But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - Psalm 73:25 Only the people who have a strong faith in themselves, in their God, and in their best friends dare to admit their shortcomings. As you continue in the process of positively programming your mind, and ridding it of conscious and subconscious negative thoughts, it is important to admit your inadequacies. That is an act of faith, too! Once you have enough faith to admit your inadequacies, you experience incredible liberation! From that time on, you develop an immunity to hypocrisy. The word hypocrisy is bantered around irresponsibly today. Hypocrisy is not the human frailty that keeps you from practicing what you preach. Hypocrisy is not the failure to live up to your own ideals. Hypocrisy is pretending to be perfect, and in the process, imposing a sense of judgment and guilt on those around you. Hypocrisy is giving everybody the verbal assurance that you are living up to your own standards, when you really are not! Christians arent perfect. We know where we must go for forgiveness! Therefore, go to God, on an hourly basis! Your flesh and heart may fail, but God never gives up on you! Thats why you can dare to be open and honest. Dear God, I thank You that Your adequacy atones for my inadequacies. I thank You that Your strength takes over where my weakness begins. I thank You that Your forgiveness is sufficient for my sins. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
