Adopting an abused dog takes more than opening your home, it takes time and patience. Shadow was a bait dog for pittbulls. We adopted him to be a service animal to me. There is a lot of days he has saved me, but some days I have to save him. This day I looked at him shaking uncontrollably. I had to lay down and reassure he was ok. I grabbed my camera with hopes of capturing a moment of comfort. I did and its him looking me in the eye wanting help.
