Adoption Story by Linda Garland: After losing 15 year old Cassie to cancer the beginning of July of this year, I was so upset that I said, no more cats and gave everything away. About 6 weeks later animal control featured a kitty named Sparkle in our local newspaper. First thing I did was call to see if she was in danger of being put to sleep because her bio said she was their longest resident. She had been there 6 months and barely one year old. They said no, but I only half believed them. Went to meet her and she was terrified when brought into the visiting room. When workers left, she walked and jumped onto a chair. I pet her and she purred. It was over then and there. Went home with adoption application and brought them back that day. When I brought her home, she headed for the nearest hiding spot, under a chair. She spent her first 6 days there. Ive had her about 2 months now and shes really coming out of her shell, she is so lovable. She has some ongoing dental problems, but well deal with them. Problem was, she was the runt of her litter at 5 lbs, 9 oz. God gave her to the right person. She rescued me as much as I did her.
