Adventures in Missions So today i get ready to get on this airplane to fly from Marion Illinois to St. Louis Missouri and we realized that the front tire was flat. Craziest things us missionaries run into sometimes you know. We this little fella with a little jack comes running out and lifts the front of that plane up and pulls that old tire off and slaps a new one on in about 10 minutes. Very impressive i thought kinda like Nascar i was thinking, then again i am from North Carolina. Well we thought we had everything worked out so we got on that plane and headed for St. Louis Missouri. There was the pilot in the front and a co-pilot on the side. We had flown just a little piece when an alarm came up on the plane. It was a low tire pressure light on the front tire. Well we just knew that front tire had gone flat again and we knew that we couldnt land that thing with a flat front tire. So what could we do? the only thing we knew to do. The pilot decided that we were going to have to do a barrel roll and somebody was going to have to go out there and check that tire. Well they got the straws of the drink cart and sure enough you know who would have to draw the short straw, but thank goodness there was another pastor on the plane so he decided he would come and help me. I guess they thought since we were ready to meet Jesus we had ought to go if something was to go wrong you know and one of us was to fly off that thing. Well we got the tool kit out and the pilot took it into a barrel roll. there we were flying upside down up over Illinois. Well we climbed out the emergency window and headed towards the front of that plane and wouldnt you know it that tire was flat again. We put a little spit on it and found the leak but what in the world were we going to use to patch it with. Praise God somebody inside struck there arm outa that window and handed us a roll of duck tape. We got that duck tape and wrapped up that tire real good and got it blown back up to were we thought we might be able to git the plane landed. We laid hands on it, you know how we preachers are and said a little prayer over and decided that was all we could do. We climbed back down the side of that plane and got back in the window and got the window put back in and the pilot rolled the plane back over. The pilot finally took the plane down and sure enough the duck tape held. God is so good to us. The only incident we had was one woman passed out because all the blood had rushed to her head while we were turned over. All in a days work as a missionary i guess. God bless you folks. Have a good night. Love yall Brother George
