Adventures in traveling with Justina. On Friday, March 7 at 5:30pm, I received an email from Expedia wishing me a good trip and giving me a link to my itinerary. I clicked on the link was STUNNED to see that someone had moved my Departure from 8am on March 8 to 7:30pm on March 7 (with a 13 hour lay over in Chicago...I know getting around OHare can be a pain... but 13 HOURS). This prompted a phone call to Expedia, the man (yes, real human) assured me that I was to leave on March 8 at 8am. Still did not trust man on the phone, so my Mom and I drove to the airport to confirm this. We left on time on the 8th, got to OHare early and then proceeded to sit on the runway for 40 mins, because another plane was at our gate. It was going to be a run to get to our connecting flight (which should have started boarding by the time we got to the gate). Thank goodness, I had requested a wheel chair for my Mom (who has a bad knee)... or so I thought. Apparently, they forgot to order the wheel chair... so there was not one waiting for my Mom. This prompted me to run to the new gate, and let the gate agent know what was going on. Mom limped her way to the gate and got there in time to board. The gate agent was disgusted that someone did not follow through on such an important matter. She made sure wheel chairs were ordered for each leg of the trip... and gave me a receipt to show that the reservation. While there were ups and downs... we made it safely.
