Advice Issued For: Brimpaen, Cherrypool, Glenisla Crossing, Glenisla, Hynes Fire Origin: 17KM NE OF BALMORAL Incident Name: ROCKLANDS - REES RD Issued: 09/01/15 1:52 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Brimpaen, Cherrypool, Glenisla Crossing, Glenisla, Hynes. The Rocklands - Rees Road bushfire in the Black Range State Park has burned approximately 4700ha and is still not yet under control although fire activity is very low. Rain and cool weather conditions have assisted fire crews to halt the spread of the fire. Fire crews will continue to patrol this fire over the weekend and work on constructing and strengthening containment lines. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. The Henty Highway is open. The Rocklands Cherrypool Road is closed between the Henty Hwy and the entrance to the state park north of Mountain Creek Dam campground. The Black Range State Park is closed to the public. Local residents need to be aware of emergency vehicles travelling in the area. The next update is expected by 12/01/15 11:00 AM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line (VBIL) on freecall 1800 240 667.
