The fire activity north-west of Buchan is now contained and there is currently no threat to communities. Fire crews will continue to patrol and black out the fire edge over the coming days. Although there is currently no threat to communities, you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. The next update is expected by 07/03/14 11:00 AM or as the situation changes. People who are travelling, especially ahead of the Labour Day long weekend, are encouraged to plan their trip and stay informed. Many areas in Gippsland are not affected by fires. The region is open for business as usual, with plenty of beautiful places to visit, see inspiredbygippsland.au. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
