Advice Issued For: Dimboola, Kiata, Leeor, Lillimur South, Lorquon, Lorquon West, Netherby, Ngallo, Nhill, Pinnaroo, Serviceton, Telopea Downs, Waggon Flat, Yanac, Kiata East, Yanac South, Kaniva, Lillimur, Baker, Big Desert Fire Origin: 59 km north west of Yanac Incident Name: BIG DESERT WP BORDER TRACK #2 Issued: 20/01/14 12:20 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Dimboola, Kiata, Leeor, Lillimur South, Lorquon, Lorquon West, Netherby, Ngallo, Nhill, Pinnaroo, Serviceton, Telopea Downs, Waggon Flat, Yanac, Kiata East, Yanac South, Kaniva, Lillimur, Baker, Big Desert. Firefighters continue to work on a fire in the Big Desert Wilderness Park 59 km north west of Yanac. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads. Murray Sunset, Hattah Kulkyne and Wyperfeld National Parks and the Big Desert Wilderness Park are closed to the public. The next update is expected by 2pm on 20/01/14 or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
