Advice Issued For: Galah, Gama, Gypsum, Leitpar, Mittyack, Ouyen, Paignie, Rownack, Speed, Straten, Tiega, Turriff, Turriff East, Walpeup, Woornack, Tyenna, Kulwin, Pier Milan, Tempy, Turriff West, Wagant, Boorongie, Boorongie North, Boulka, Bronzewing Fire Origin: 12 KM SOUTH WEST OF OUYEN Incident Name: BRONZEWING - SUNRAYSIA HIGHWAY Issued: 20/01/14 11:31 AM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Galah, Gama, Gypsum, Leitpar, Mittyack, Ouyen, Paignie, Rownack, Speed, Straten, Tiega, Turriff, Turriff East, Walpeup, Woornack, Tyenna, Kulwin, Pier Milan, Tempy, Turriff West, Wagant, Boorongie, Boorongie North, Boulka, Bronzewing. Firefighters are working to put a containment line around the Bronzewing Flora and Fauna Reserve fire, 12 km south west of Ouyen. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads. The Sunraysia Highway is now open, however when driving through the Bronzewing area, take care as flame and firefighters may still be present. Murray Sunset, Hattah Kulkyne and Wyperfeld National Parks and the Big Desert Wilderness Park are closed to the public. The next update is expected by 6.00pm on 20/1/14 or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
