Advice Issued For: Licola, Tamboritha Fire Origin: TAMBORITHA-CAREY RIVER area 15kms NE of Licola Incident Name: TAMBORITHA - CAREY RIVER Issued: 27/01/14 10:00 AM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Licola, Tamboritha. The fire is currently 599 hectares in size. Rappellers and other arduous firefighters have been sent in to deal with hotspots within the fire perimeter. A FLIR (forward-looking infra-red radar) flight will check for any more hotspots later today. A Public Safety Zone has been declared around this fire. People are not permitted to enter or remain in a Public Safety Zone while it is current. This does not affect private property or residents in the area. The following roads and tracks will be closed from January 20 to March 31 2014: · B1 Track from Tamboritha Road to Chromite Track · B1 Track from Tamboritha Road to B2 Track · Chromite Track from B1 Track to Brandy PinchTrack · Riggall Spur Track from Brandy Pinch Track toMillers Track · Mt Wellington Track from Moroka Road for theentire length · McFarlane Road from Moroka Road for entirelength · Dry Hill Track from Moroka Road to McFarlaneRoad · B2 Track from Tamboritha Road for entire length. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. The next update is expected by 28/01/14 10:00 AM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
