Advice Issued For: Omeo, Uplands, Hinnomunjie, Bingo Munjie, Omeo Valley, The Brothers, Bingo Munjie North, Benambra Fire Origin: 58 KMS SSW OF CORRYONG Incident Name: CORRYONG - KINGS CREEK Issued: 19/01/14 3:27 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Omeo, Uplands, Hinnomunjie, Bingo Munjie, Omeo Valley, The Brothers, Bingo Munjie North, Benambra. Firefighters are responding to a fire in the 58 KMS SSW OF CORRYONG area. There are two fires burning in the Kings Creek area, approximately 30km north north east of Benambra. These two fires will join in the next 24 hours. Crews are working with heavy machinery to consolidate the fire boundaries. There will be increased emergency vehicle traffic in the area due to the fire response, increased air craft activity and an increase in smoke. Due to the fire activity within the area the Corryong-Benambra Road may close by 5.00pm 19/01/2014, the following tracks are closed: - Kings Creek Track - Eustace Gap Track - King Spur Track - Dart track. The following camping areas are closed and must not be accessed by either road or water: - Eustace Gap camp - Dartmouth Track Camp There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads, and may impact the visibility for people traveling along the Corryong-Benambra Raod. The next update is expected by 19/01/14 5:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
