Advice please Hi Im a former Royal Marine Commando Physical Training Instructor. On leaving the military I opened my own tree surgery business and was also the main climber. I sold up a number of years ago, and I am now in the high risk hostile environment security industry, specialising in Close Protection and Maritime security. Im trying to get into the Oil and Gas sector preferably offshore. The problem I have is experience, I have 20 years rope experience from being a Mountain Leader, climbing instructor and tree surgery work, but no one seems to be willing to take on a new starter with IRATA level 1 !!!!!!! I do also have some NDT qualifications but again need some much needed experience!! Seems to be a catch 22 situation. Any sensible advice is welcome.
