Aetna makes a big move with agreement to cover cardiac monitoring patch made by San Franciscos iRhythm Technologies. The technology firm won reimbursement coverage for its flagship arrhythmia monitoring patch. Aetna, the third biggest private health insurer in the U.S., will cover the company’s monitoring device, iRhythms ZIO Service, for long-term continuous monitoring for patients with suspected heart arrhythmias. Utilizing such technologies may reduce cardiac healthcare costs.
