Afghanistan SITREP from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) dated Sunday, April 27, 2014. The SITREP is very thorough and breaks down damages and what is being done in each Province and District. Here is the intro and link: Heavy rainfall beginning on 24 April caused flash floods in nine northern and western provinces. Initial reports obtained from provincial authorities indicate that 95 people have lost their lives and many ohers are still missing. In addition, the flooding has displaced more than 2,284 families and negatively impacted more than 5,565 families. The flooding also resulted in the destruction of public facilities, roads, and thousands of hectares of agricultural land and gardens. IOM, in close coordination with the Afghan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) and Provincial Disaster Management Committee (PDMC) members, mobilized to the affected areas for rapid joint assessments in order to verify the emergency needs of the affected families.
