After 23 hours of travel, Ella and I made it to Kinshasa safely on Friday evening. Weve settled in to our new home (which is pretty spectacular, by the way...shoutout to Sarah Sensamaust for keeping it in such beautiful shape).Its about 11:10 at night and Im currently sitting on the patio, still jet-lagged, having a silent (yet mutually respectful) exchange with a fairly large beetle/cockroach/oval shaped black bug that doesnt seem to be scared of me at all. Online communication is wonky for now but will get better as we get things set up. Thank you for all your prayers, moral support, packing support and just general all around love.
