After 26 years of schooling and many sacrifices from my late parents who toiled and worked extremely hard to get me to school and also the sacrifice of the people of Lwala village who sold their priced cows, goats and chickens and sheep to buy me a $900 dollar ticket to come to the land of opportunity, the United States of America, and with my siblings Maurice Omondi Ochieng , Ollozie Ochieng, Solomon Ochieng, Frederick Ochieng, Grace Ochieng and my wife Laura Ochieng supporting and the many friends we have made along the way helping and of course the omnipresent God Almighty in charge, I am grateful to finally become a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology! Thank you mom for dragging us all at 5am to work in the sugarcane plantation at Ochol and for those tough all nighters we pulled crushing sugarcane to save money to send us to school. You taught us the value of hard work, humility and love for ones neighbor and the importance of giving back to the community and as you taught us The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Proverbs 1:7 Grateful for your sacrifices
