After 6 days, Comcast finally fixed our cable issue and installed the new X1 equipment. However, they now have a new "feature" - the cable box is not meant to be turned off! In an era where we need to reduce our carbon footprint in anyway possible, these "geniuses" have created a remote control that will ONLY turn the cable box ON. Oddly enough, the remote that turns the cable box on, will not turn it off - that has to be done manually. When we called and asked, we were told that the box was meant to remain ON all the time. I find this odd and just a bit disturbing. The remote will turn the tv on and off, but will NOT turn the cable box OFF - only on.
