After a long time, AR Murugadoss has opened up about Ilayathalapathy Vijays Kaththi to Tamil magazine Kungumam and here are some of the interesting highlights from the interview... People say that Ramana is my best, Kaththi will be remembered for another 10 years: AR Murugadoss has said I have made many films in the last 12 years, amongst them many are commercially successful. But till now people keep saying that Ramana is my best film. When I thought that why cant I make another film on par with Ramana, Kaththi is the resultant of that thought process. Speaking about the genre of Kaththi, AR Murugadoss says Thuppakki is a thriller and hence the pace will be very fast. Kaththi is a heavy subject, we have kept awareness as the base theme for the film and it will be remembered for another 10 years. Vijays dual role versatility: When I first worked with Vijay, I dont know how to make use of his talent but now I have completely understood him and I have ideas to take Vijay to the general audience said AR Murugadoss in the interview. AR Murugadoss wanted to make Kaththi feel different from Thuppakki and now it has happened, said the director. Dual role subject is new to AR Murugadoss but the director says Vijays hardwork will be something to watch out for. Vijay has shown a great difference right from voice, appearance and mannersims said the director. AR Murugadoss says In Kaththi, one Vijay is a common man and another Vijay is very special, you would not have seen him like this. On opting for Anirudh: I know how my regular music composer would compose for a particular shot, just like that I opted for new music director and cinematographer who have completely given a new color to the film. Anirudh has justified my faith on him, I would say that the music for Kaththi is peppy! On Samantha: AR Murugadoss calls Samantha as an excellent artist. When popularity strikes, people might tend to change but safeguarding your position is more important. Samantha doesnt have such stary tantrums, on seeing her working style we would like to expand her character and I have done it. Kaththi will be a huge successful film for Samantha said the Ghajini director.
