After a lot of discussion, weve sadly decided to call it a day. The last six months have been tough on the band as weve all started to really think about our individual futures. Were all currently doing different things and a few of us are planning to move overseas, therefore, we dont feel its logistically possible to continue Up And Atom. Its sad to say goodbye but the things we have learned, the people weve met and the places weve been have without a doubt changed our lives in a way that wouldnt have been possible without this band. Over the last three and a half years we’ve toured overseas three times, made a lot of amazing friendships and played a lot of great shows. We’ve been to Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia. We’ve played clubs, bars, warehouses, rehearsal rooms, an outdoor shopping mall and even the upstairs at an internet cafe. We released two EPs and a split with our Singaporean friends The Caulfield Cult (who are killing it in Europe right now and will be at The Fest this year in the US - seriously, check them out). There are a lot of people who we need to thank for helping us get to where we are. Damo, who recorded all of our music, joined us and played guitar for the band in Japan. Waki, Miyu, Sou and the Romantic Nobita crew in Tokyo, Esa, Elgis and Doni in Indonesia, Howell, Piledriver and the Laguna hardcore crew in the Philippines, Ashruff and the ATNP dudes, The Caulfield Cult, Ash Chazz the photo genius, our friends in Malaysia, Josh, Cohen, Jenkins, Mitch and everyone else who let us crash on your floor, showed us around, gave us a meal, booked us a show or shared our music. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all so much. - Up And Atom
