After a very long wait I would like to introduce you all to Rain. - TopicsExpress

After a very long wait I would like to introduce you all to Rain. Do you remember what you were doing on Halloween this year? Chances are you were bundled up inside complaining about how cold, and wet, and absolutely miserable it was outside. Well as warm and snug as you were inside thats how cold and wet Rain was outside. Somebody snuck around the back of a shelter and left her in a carrier with nothing but a bit of hay. Its not known when she was left there or how many hours or even days she had been without food or water. But, when shelter staff took the garbage out that night thankfully they spotted the carrier. Rain was cold, wet, and very frightened. It was evident immediately that Rain was blind in her left eye. When she was spayed not only was it discovered that she had advanced uterine cancer but in recovery she went into an acute head tilt and lost the vision in her right eye. Rain struggled for a time but has recovered from her head tilt. She has also had two molar trims. Sadly, it has also been discovered that she is likely very hard of hearing/deaf and has a large abscess at the base of her right ear. This sweet bun is so shy but such a snuggle bun. Rain will require ongoing antibiotic treatment and possibly one more dental trim. Hopefully now that shes eating hay her teeth will wear properly. Rain will also need a full opthalmic exam by our vets as soon as possible as I am concerned about the pressure in her right eye. Please consider helping with Rains medical expenses by contributing via PayPal to our email address dancingrabbitrefuge@rogers A huge thank you to Gayle for helping with transport and for boarding Rain, over the weekend, in the Barnaby Suite. ;)
