After arriving home from work yesterday I had a chap at the door from Ipsos Mori....... He was there to ask if Id like to do a travel survey while keeping a hold of a little GPS device... I agreed to do so for him and going through the particulars we got onto the referendum. Firstly the chap is a Yes voter as is his whole family but we got onto some of the surveys he had actually undertaken for Ipsos Mori. He explained to me that almost all of the surveys he had undertaken as much as 50 percent of those surveyed were still undecided in which way they are voting and the rest are evenly balanced between yes and no. He did explain that there was regional variations like affluency and poverty. I.E if people come from money they are more no or if the people are closer to the poverty line they are more YES. He said pensioners were 5 percent more in favour of no as they were worried about their pensions. The 16 year olds were mostly not going to vote. But most importantly the amount of undecideds were roughly around 50 percent. If this chap is to be believed then its all to play for with just weeks to go. How do we engage these undecideds with just weeks to go? Hes coming back for his travel survey in a few weeks. Ill press him again for more info.
