After attending workshops with a focus topic of War on Poverty, my heart was so pricked. I think I prayed more than I took notes. The statistics on our youth, education levels, likelihood of attending college and then career outlook....depressed me! The thing that saddens me the most is that its acceptable to way too many. Im not Satisfied with saying thats too bad, and walking away to my great school district and saying...glad its not us. IT WAS ME!!! Thank God He redirected my path! He didnt do that so I could ignore the truth.... so, Im going to explore more opportunities to mentor and outreach. These kids mean that much!
