After being held incommunicado by Comcast for more than 36 hours we have communications back. In the storms that hit our area Saturday in the wee hours we had a short heavy rain (more than filled a new 69 gallon rain-barrel), then heavy winds (a huge branch came down on the roof and shook the entire house), then some flickers in the power. But power was never off for more than a second or two at a time. Usually less than a second. But Comcast was out for 38 hours or so. With phone, internet & TV through Comcast, that cut us down to cell phones. But we dont get reception at our house, for any of the major networks. So I have a micro-cell tower, but it has to run through the internet. But with that out, no communications at home. Sigh. I cant go Dish because I live in heavy woods and cant see the satellites without putting the dish up a tree (where it will wave in any wind and not stay pointed correctly). Ive had the same troubles with Quest (now Century Link) in the past, so that is no relief. But, Im back on the net, so I can clean up things left undone.
