>After church, I stopped by Wal*Mart for a dozen eggs. Simple, in & out. >Some guy nearly knocked me over, dragging his son to reach the express line before me. I wasnt about to follow him. >In the next line, ahead of me, was a couple with a shopping cart filled to the gills. O.K., I wasnt in a great hurry. Then the woman pulled out a huge bundle of sales papers, from other stores, and each item had to be compared to the flyer & rung up by hand. >I turned to the couple behind me and asked, Im pretty sure 20 is the same in Spanish as well as in English. I looked at the sign above the register, now I am not a linguist, in two classes in Conversational Spanish, I did not get much more than, how are you, however, Im pretty sure that !20 articular o menos is translated into English as, 20 articles, or less. No mas was not stated, but it was implied. At least 20 minutes to get through the express line. Grrr!
