After doing my research, I have decided not to accept this #ALSicebucketchallenge. This is my reasoning, why are we wasting a resource as valuable as clean drinking water? There is a drought in California, Colonsay Island in Scotland had their water shut off 5 times over the weekend from this challenge, and 5000 children a day die from dirty water while only 5600 die a year from ALS. Over 6 million gallons of water have been poured out in the name of Lou Gherigs Disease. The average american household uses 320 gallons per day, so by this calculation nearly 19000 homes daily water usage has been wasted. I understand that this is a good cause, but can we please find a way to raise awareness without taking from nature so thoughtlessly?
