After extensive demolition and rebuilding at Stanley Park Outdoor Swimming Pool, it has now reopened with all new fixtures, lockers, flooring, doors, and a flood resilient concession area. The pool was closed as result of the June 2013 flood, just four days before a grand reopening was scheduled to debut its new renovations and wading pool. Contractors worked seven days a week for two and a half months and, while some work is still needed to get the pool to pre-flood conditions, we and The Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pool Association are pleased to announce the main pool and building are open for the 2014 season. *The wading pool is temporarily out of service due to problems with underground water supply pipes. An inspection scheduled next week will reveal the extent of the damage and the cause.
