After feeling like crap most of the last couple of days, I can - TopicsExpress

After feeling like crap most of the last couple of days, I can attest to the temporary healing powers of going onstage so to speak, doing your gig and then crashing afterward. Now, if I were at the level where I was constantly coughing with a sore throat and contagious then I wouldnt be here. Obviously. But this is a more manageable internal malady, more stomach related that responds somewhat to doses of Pepto-Bismol without requiring frequent runs down the hall. Thank heavens for that. But it was tough getting out of bed the last couple of afternoons. However a trip to my ace chiropractor John and then some good face time with onetime Drive jock and good friend Ken Southern put me back on track. Getting downtown earlier this evening, you can feel spring in the air. No need to zip up the leather jacket, taking a longer than necessary walk down Chicago Avenue, intentionally jogging down State to pass Holy Name Cathedral, one of Chicagos great houses of worship. Decades ago, I occasionally spent some of my lunch breaks sitting in a pew there and meditating under the majestic arches. It was always quiet; I cant imagine getting up in front of full house, even to pay tribute to a beloved relative as a friend of mine once did but the Lord gives extra power at times like that. Then it was over to Michigan Avenue and north thru Water Tower Park to the Hancock Building where The Drive is located. High above Chicagos Magnificent Mile as I sometimes say on air. Im feeling ok enough tonight...at least for the present and ready to kick off The Drives Thursday Double Feature of Rush and AC/DC in just minutes. Were gonna ROCK! And it all starts here on the Overnight Drive, always an honor. In the words of one of our featured bands, for those about to RAWK, we SALUTE you!!!
