After going through Uzor Maxim Uzoatus An Essay on Nothing in the - TopicsExpress

After going through Uzor Maxim Uzoatus An Essay on Nothing in the Sunday Sun Revue section on page 48 yesterday, I couldnt help myself, but to laugh as if there was something he was saying. The first paragraph of the article ended this way:Thats exactly what I want to do now: write about nothing! In short,it is my considered opinion that any writer who can not start from nothing has learnt nothing and has thusly written nothing! But did I say the writer had written nothing? No,he has not written is more like it.It does appear writing on nothing is doing some damage to my grey matter....... In the penultimate conclusive line of thought he added:Of course before opening the mouth to condemn me for wasting the time of the world on nothing,it is crucial to remember the words of Charles Caleb Colton:When you have nothing to say,say nothing. Uzoatu continued the essay with so many references to views on nothing. These cited fellows either in prints or spoken words, however were neither in support of the concept of nothing nor in its opposition, but I guessed at the end,he made something out of nothing.I dont know if this is a popular style among the literary class, but I guess,he just taught me how the human mind can make mountain of relevance out of an iota of inanity. With my little level of exposure on literature,I have this reservation that he has challenged a convention in the art of writing. If this pattern of baseless writing is something in existence before this Uzoatus letters, then somebody should give me reasons to resort to history.
