After lots of discussion with the treatment team and doctors - TopicsExpress

After lots of discussion with the treatment team and doctors around the country, a battle plan has been set in to motion. The plan involves two possible paths that will be taken at the same time. The first thing will happen Monday when Kaitlyn will again have a surgery to have a temporary pheresis catheter placed. Tuesday she will be hooked to a pheresis machine for sever hours to remove healthy t-cells from her blood. The t-cells will be sent to childrens hospital of Philadelphia CHOP for processing. See attached video link for further explanation. After that process Kaitlyn will start a round of chemotherapy lasting 29 days. At the end of that treatment phase she will have another bone marrow sample taken. If the sample reveals that Kaitlyn is in remission she will start preparing for bone marrow transplant. However if she does not go into remission she will move to T-cells therapy at CHOP that will possibly involve a 6-8 week stay in Philadelphia.
