After much deliberation, I decided to pursue education because educating the next generation is the best way to change society. Now, I have just received fabulous news! I was just hired to be a language arts teacher at Warrington Middle School! I am especially excited about this since the school district hired Turnaround Solutions, Inc. to provide extensive educational consulting services to move the school forward! Dr. Young, the firms CEO and President, has a very impressive track record for turning F schools into A schools, so I am excited to learn their innovative teaching methods! In addition, I am personally passionate about incorporating the Freedom Writer method in my teaching strategy, which will develop compassionate, self-reflective, and empowered students. Some people define these kids in Warrington by their worst; I define them by their best. Under their misbehavior and academic challenges, I see promise. When you see that, put an anchor in and work from there. Finally, contrary to popular belief, teaching is a profession and requires skill and knowledge. You dont just whip together lesson plans and be done with it. Teaching requires much more than that.
