After raising a furor over her ignorance of cricket’s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Russian tennis champion Maria Sharapova, this time, said that she didn’t know who Superstar Rajinikanth is, leading to a tsunami of abuses, this time from her own countrymen. Lakhs of Russians took to Facebook and Twitter, spamming the leggy lass’ Facebook page and Twitter handle with nasty abuses. They even wrote to President Vladimir Putin and demanded stringent punishment for her. “Not knowing Sachin is fine, even I don’t know who he is. But not knowing Thalaivar is like WTF!!! HOW CAN A HUMAN BEING NOT KNOW THALAIVAR !!!!?” yelled Mikhail Irodov, a huge Rajinikanth fan from Russia. “Let her witness the response she receives for this. [Translation: Dont you feel the reverberation as soon as you hear the name?] Men apart, Sharapova was a recipient of invective from fellow Russian women too who happen to be die-hard fans of the superstar. “What a bloody b**** !!! How dare she say this against our Thalaivar! This is just not done! She deserves the harshest punishment for this. Laka laka laka laka laka!” screamed Semma Palkova, one of Russia’s craziest Thalaivar fans, with posters of the superstar adorning her room all over. The situation reached a boiling point when Russian president wrote to Superstar Rajinikanth, apologizing for Maria’s ignorance and assuring him that Maria will be dealt with severely. When Maria requested Putin for pardon, Putin reportedly said, “Naan oru thadava sonna, nooru thadave sonna maadiri!
