After the Battle at Bushy Run, Colonel Henry Bouquet and his men - TopicsExpress

After the Battle at Bushy Run, Colonel Henry Bouquet and his men relieved the soldiers at Fort Pitt that were holding the Native Americans back from taking the Fort, which was one of the last remaining British forts on the frontier. On August 10th, 1763, Bouquet brought an end to the siege of Fort Pitt. Henry Bouquet was a hero of the frontier and the builder of the Block House that still stands in its original spot today. This weekend the Fort Pitt Museum, located right next to the Block House, is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the end of the siege! They are opening a new exhibit, Unconquered: History meets Hollywood, this Saturday in the museum. There will also be numerous events throughout the day in the Block House yard that will be free with admission to the Fort Pitt Museum such as, blacksmithing demonstrations, talks about the siege of the Fort, the firing of a cannon, and the showing of the film, Unconquered, inside the museum. It’s going to be a perfect day to come down and visit us in the Block House with plenty to do and a lot of history to learn! Hope to see you this weekend!
