After todays walk I can honestly see why some people want a dog free area of the beach! Im walking along the prom with my 4 month old daughter smiling away in her pram enjoying the sun and fresh air. My trusty companion next to me on his lead as we are by the road. Hes a beautiful German Shepherd. Its the perfect start to the day. Until an older woman and her medium size dog (dont know the breed) walk past us. Her dog takes an interest in my baby and sticks its head in the pram (seriously WTF is she thinking allowing this??) baby starts crying and my dog lets out a low growl as a warning to the other dog. Other dog then starts snarling and goes for my dog who is luckily (for the other dog on a lead). Lady says to her dog oh you poor thing did that nasty dog growl at you? I said what? your dog upset my baby of course my dog is going to growl?? she responds oh my dog is scared of German Shepherds! I walked away fuming to comfort my child to her muttering your dog is a dangerous breed. In hope that the lady is on here Id like to make the following comments.... 1. If you know your dog is going to be scared/react put him on a lead! 2. Your dog behaves badly at least have the decency to check my child is ok! 3. German Shepherds are brilliant family dogs. You witnessed him protecting my baby! 4. Any dog can be dangerous if not raised correctly! 5. Incidents like this are the reason this ban may be put into place! Dont ruin it for the rest of us!!!!
