After traveling to Kotzebue for new hire orientation, meeting with the Dental staff, returning home and meeting with first patients; I am now excited to start a new learning process in my life. Two and a half years being home, enjoying the first few years of my grand kids life and being very actively involved in the church was nice but now I need to pay off my truck and rebuild my retirement. Besides, I never got around to learning to bake or cook new foods or do any crafts so I might as well go back to work to be productive. Thats all I know anyhow. I am most happy that I will just be dealing with peoples oral hygiene and that is going to be a lot less stressful than providing family services. Twenty years of being an ICWA Coordinator, Family Caseworker, then Village Based Counselor, serving many villages, was rewarding but also takes a lot from a person. Serving on the City and Tribal council is the extent of my public service now a days. I have found that I am quite happy with the direction my life is headed.
