After watching this group for several days, I find the arguments - TopicsExpress

After watching this group for several days, I find the arguments of most theists here (who happen to be almost entirely Islamic or Christic) to be badly worded, poorly thought out attacks on science, or in a bizarre twist, trying to cozy up to science by claiming that science and their holy book agree in some way. On the other hand, most of the atheists argue against the book, the results of the religion, what it does to people, or in some cases they poke holes in the logic put forth by theists. The problem I see is that theists are normally arguing from faith and trying to rationalize it, where atheists stay firmly in the realm of rationality. Am I just getting it wrong? I tend to call myself a nonmonolithic theist. I do not rule out the possibility of other gods, my faith does not require salvation. People are not born inherently good or evil. Why is it that so many people of faith are hung up on the silly things?
