After we left San Francisco. We drove up to Yosemite. An amazing glacial landscape. Saw the giant Sequoia groves. Slept in a tent. It was 2ºC overnight last night. This morning we left early (ish) and drove over the Tioga pass and down into the high sierra desert then down to Furnace Creek in Death Valley. It had gotten up to 11 º in the pass (it was mid 20s in the middle of the day in Yosemite). Over the next 3 hours as we descended from 9900feet above sea level to minus 150feet the temperature rose to 45º! We started in jackets with the car top down and progressivelytook layers off as we descended the last 1/2 hour we bottled out and put the roof on and the airconditioning up high. The land scapes are amazing.
