Again a later evening post than usual and again due to an unexpected visitor. This time the human;s sister. Not the one that was here last monday, but the other one. The human has two. First I want to get something off my chest: Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and nobody is obligated to agree on anything, but some comments today got me a little angry. Nobody knows Dushi better than my human and if she says Dushi cant be kept indoors for too long, she cant. She lived on the streets for about 6 or 7 years and she spent most of her life outside. Outside is her world. Sure, the human can lock her up, so she never can go out again, but my human is not gonna do that. Yes, she knows it can be dangerous outside. Duh, shes been at the vets with Dushi today because of a car accident... Yes, the human knows its safer indoors. But Dushis happiness, her state of mind, is just as important as her safety, and maybe even more. Dushi would be miserable if kept indoors for the rest of her life. Maybe she can live 5 more years that way, but whats her quality of life then? Is safety worth a depression? The human thinks not. You can disagree with the human on that and youre free to tell her that. You can advise her otherwise. Or you can ask her why she does what she does, or doesnt what she doesnt. But dont act like she doesnt care enough about Dushis safety, cause she cares more than youll ever know! And dont think the human hasnt tried hard enough, or doesnt know yet that Dushi really can get used to staying indoors. You dont know Dushi like she does. And I havent even spoken yet about the humans own health, that would suffer from keeping Dushi indoors too. The human has her health issues and needs her sleep badly. Already Dushi meows so much now, she gets on the humans nerves pretty bad. The human knows that in time Dushi will only stop meowing when shes sleeping. For a while the human can handle that, but after so many days, or maybe even weeks, the human reaches her limit. She will get sick and suffer from pains because of the lack of sleep, and during the day her blood pressure will rise sky high. If she wants to be able to keep taking care of us as good as she does now, she cant have that. Enough about this. I needed to get this out and I hope you understand. Some comments today offended my human and I wont have that, but on about nicer things again now. We had a nice day. Emotionally the human felt sooo much better after the vet reassured her. All she wanted to do is spoil us, hug us, cuddle with us and snuggle with us, and we all got what she wanted. We had some of the yummy treats my Texan friend sent us, and all three of us cats had snuggles, cuddles and kisses. Both Herman and Dushi snuggled with the sister too. I didnt, but I sat on the ellbow rest next to the humam for a while, and after that I lay in the hammock, also next to the human. The sister brought us some yummy wet food, and we had some of that too. Thnx, Yvonne! All and all a lovely day. Even Jinx had his treats and snuggles today and of course he enjoyed it too. He had a confrontation wit the other cat (whoever that may be) again too. The human heard a cat growling outside and when she went to look, she couldnt see anything because it was dark already, but heard a short catfight and saw Jinx running after the other one and chase him out of the backyard. It looked like they both came from my old shelter, so I think the other one was eating there when Jinx spotted him. Jinx sometimes naps in his cat bed in the kitchen again, and is very near to the shelter then... I expect him to be back for his late night wet food and have a quiet night, now that the other one knows again who rules the backyard. Herman and I made progress again to today. I actually played a little with him on the couch, but then he (playful) bit my ear. He doesnt know yet how sensitive my ears are. After he did that, I didnt wanna play anymore. The human also tried to lay Herman next to me several times when I lay in the hammock. The first few times either Herman or me got out of the hammock, but I think it was the third try when the both of us stayed. We lay there together for quite some time. I napped and Herman slept. I think I can learn to like this pretty fast. Well be going to bed pretty soon now. The human has to give Jinx his late night wet food and do some more things to wrap up the day, but after shes done (and she wont need much time), well go upstairs. I expect tomorrow to be another good day. The human has two appointments and only has to leave the house for one, so shell be home most of the day again. Cool. That usually means lots of snuggles and cuddles. Im already looking forward to it. I hope you all had/have a nice day too. Nighty night everybody!
