Agreed it might be an odd time to post such a thing when Kashmir is reeling from devastating floods. But let us spare a thought. Bihar suffers from perennial floods. Never has the nations response to relief there been even half as pro-active as Kashmir. (Jug Suraiya even made a tasteless cartoon on the floods of Bihar - am raring to meet that jerk in person sometime and give him a piece of my mind.). I think, people who display overt sub-nationalism or outright secessionist mindset are the ones who are looked after by rulers in Delhi. It pains and hurts to see Kashmiri youth pelting stones at our security men. At the root of their grudge is their myopic interpretation of their faith that they possess some unique identity which will be contaminated if free mingling with others (read Indians) is allowed. Their politicians always encourage such a thought line to keep their flock together. Today the Indian army is serving the suffering there - I wish more could be done. Whole of India is concerned and stepped ahead to lend a helping hand. May things normalize soon there and may there be peace and prosperity in Kashmir. And I also hope the separatist elements in the Kashmir society also realize that whole of India cares for them and stands by them in their hour of need.
