Aiden update: keep praying!! Sad news everyone.. based on this mornings chest xray and Aidens response to decreasing meds and vent settings overnight and this morning, dr mazel just informed me that his lungs just arent quite ready to be on their own just yet. :-( So it looks like at least one more day of the vent. :(:( In the meantime, last night a culture came back positive for yeast in one of the ports on his central line.. so they started him on yet another antibiotic to take care of that fungal growth. The pharmacist just came and talked to me and let me know that his liver is starting to take a hit because of all these big gun antibiotics.. so its his job to figure out what to tweek so that his liver doesnt get too damaged. So now we are taking 2 steps back.. they are putting him back on the meds that they weened him off of overnight in order to keep him comfortable and well sedated. Unfortunately they just jumped the gun a little too early :-( once again dr asked me to please keep the visitors to an absolute minimum for the next couple of days. She said he just needs much rest and no overstimulation. My heart is so sad, I was so looking forward to seeing his pretty green eyes today.. but we have to do whats best for him, and right now, its just not in Gods plan. Please keep praying everyone.. my heart is so broken having to watch my sweet, innocent little boy suffer like this.. pray for God to give me the strength to stay strong and positive for Aiden.
