The Indian Diaspora is currently estimated to be over 25 million, composed of NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) and PIOs (Persons of Indian Origin, who have acquired the citizenship of some other country). The State Government is committed to further strengthen the ties between the UP NRIs and their motherland to elicit their whole hearted participation in the development process of the state. Our Government deeply appreciates the outstanding contribution made by NRIs in carving a niche in the global arena. As we rejoice your success, we invite you to actively participate in the state’s growth story. The website of the Department of NRI will act as a bridge to narrow the gap between NRI’s and their motherland. It will also act as a platform to connect the UP NRIs towards development of the state. The website will not only promote the policies and initiatives taken by Government of U.P. for NRI’s but will also emphatically infuse a sense of pride in the achievements of the State among the U.P. NRIs living across the globe.
